WDM, CWDM & DWDM Multiplexers

The ViaLite range of WDM, CWDM and DWDM products allow multiple channels – traveling in either direction – to be simultaneously combined over a single fiber.  This means signals can be multiplexed into existing infrastructure or the number of dark fibers being leased can be reduced; lowering costs.

ViaLiteHD CWDM/DWDM multiplexers and de-multiplexers are available in 8 to 64-way variants and boast low insertion loss. They can be used as part of a Ka-Band diversity system, long distance system or as a stand-alone product.

  • CWDM Mux/De-Mux: 8 & 16 way
  • DWDM Mux/De-Mux: 8, 16, 32, 64 way
  • Channels can be customer specific
  • Compatible with any RF frequency
  • 1U/2U rack chassis
  • 5-year warranty

Products are available from 1310 nm/1550 nm WDM, ITU compliant 16 channel CWDM and up to 96 way ITU 50 or 100 MHz spacing DWDM compliant Multiplexers and Demultiplexers.

WDM, CWDM & DWDM Multiplexers

ViaLite Multiplexers are based on thin film filtering and metal sealing technology. This gives a flat channel bandwidth response, flexible channel configuration and low insertion loss with high isolation. The system also has a flexible channel configuration and modularised design, making it convenient for system upgrades and expansions.

High-isolation variants are available which feature exceptional adjacent optical channel isolation.  These are specifically designed to complement the wide-dynamic range of ViaLite‘s fiber optic links.

For complex RF over fiber systems incorporating DWDM products, we recommend the use of the ViaLite System Designer tool.

Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM)

The WDM 2-channel Duplexers are available in either pigtail or plug-in module format, allowing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to build them into larger systems or for them to be rack mounted in a ViaLite chassis with other modules.

  • Allows 2 signals to be multiplexed
  • Uni- or bi-directional
  • Utilizes 1310 and 1550 nm lasers
  • Ideal for L-Band HTS and Reference or Tx/Rx in a single fiber, in satcom and diverse antennas within broadcast applications
  • High isolation between channels (90 dB RF)

Course Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM)

The CWDM 4 and 8-channel systems are available in compact 1U high 19″ rack format.

  • 4-16 channels
  • Uni- or bi-directional
  • RF and data on a single strand of fiber
  • Reduces the number of leased fibers required – by up to 16 times
  • High isolation between channels (100 dB RF)

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM)

The DWDM 4, 8 and 16-way systems are available in compact 1U high 19″ rack format or as a Purple OEM module. Up to 96 channels are available.

  • 4-96  channels
  • Uni- or bi-directional
  • RF and data on a single strand of fiber
  • Reduces the number of leased fibers required – by up to 96 times
  • Can be part of ViaLite’s Long Distance Link
  • High isolation between channels
